Tralee is situated in County Kerry and has a population of 23,691 according to the latest census. The town serves the Gaeltacht community of the West Kerry language planning area.
Kerry ETB was appointed as the lead organisation for the language planning process in Tralee alongside the language planning steering committee, Trá Lí le Gaeilge. Research was carried out locally and a consultation was held with the Tralee community in order to decide upon the measures to be included in the language plan that has since been approved by the Minister of State and is now being implemented.
