Join us for the second international conference on language planning in Ireland, which will take place on Thursday 12th November in Treacy’s West County Hotel in Ennis, County Clare.
In 2024, the first international conference on language planning in Ireland was held. Discussions were held on a wide range of topics relating to the language planning process in communities across the country and international best practice was shared on language planning examples in other countries.
This year, practitioners, researchers, policy makers and many others from the Irish-speaking community will come together in Ennis, County Clare, for the second international conference on language planning, organised by Foras na Gaeilge.
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Irish Language Acquisition and the Language Planning Process.’ The conference will provide an opportunity to examine the ways in which the Language Planning Process in Ireland can assist with the acquisition of the language, at all ages and levels of ability, outside of the education system.

The Language Planning Conference is being organised by Foras na Gaeilge with funding from the Department of Community and Rural Development and the Gaeltacht.
